Details related to the GCIS Open Championship

Competition Status

• Recognized by Swiss Golf for the purpose of the "Order of Merit" for Mid-Am's and for Seniors.
• It is not an official Swiss Golf competition i.e. the competition is not incorporated into the official Swiss Golf 2026 tournament calendar.
• No referee is required.
• The championship counts as official qualification for Seniors & Mid-Am's national team selection for European Team Championships.

Eligible Players

• Senior Amateurs (over 50) and members of a Swiss golf club with handicap below 10.0.
• Mid-Amateurs (over 25) and members of a Swiss golf club with handicap below 6.0.
• GCIS members with handicap below 16.0.

Tees

• Category 1: Back Tees (White) for all players with handicap below 6.0.
• Category 2: Medal Team (Yellow) for others.

Prizes

• Price Group 1: Overall Gross (White Tee) – Main Championship Category 1: 3 prizes.
• Price Group 2: Gross Mid-Am (White Tees): 1 Prize
• Price Group 3: Gross Seniors (White Tees): 1 Prize
• Price Group 4: Gross Seniors over 70 (White Tees):1 Prize
• Price Group 5: Overall Net (White Tees): 1 Prize
• Price Group 6: Overall Gross (Yellow Tees) - Main Championship Category 2: 3 prizes
• Price Group 7: Overall Net (Yellow Tees): 1 Prize
