About GCIS

The GCIS was founded in 1986 by Switzerland's top amateur golfers with the aim of preserving the spirit of sportsmanship and friendship beyond their ‘active careers’ at European and world championships, where they represented Switzerland. This allows the members of this association to stay in touch with old friends and teammates, prepare for the upcoming season and meet throughout the year to compete in golf tournaments with good players and golf professionals.

The association is made up of members from different age groups, allowing younger generations to meet their predecessors from national teams, while older generations can reconnect with their former golfing companions in a well-organised setting where the focus is on high-level golf.

Our mission

The GCIS aims to:

  • Consolidate and present an image of golf based on sportsmanship and friendship, both in the practice of the game itself and around the golf courses;
  • Organize all GCIS meetings and competitions in Switzerland or abroad that may serve the purposes of the association.
